Overview

These terms govern your use of guidedjourneystudio.com and any products or resources offered through it. By accessing or using this site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Guided Journey Studio is a psychoeducational digital products brand. Nothing on this site constitutes therapy, clinical services, diagnosis, or a therapeutic relationship of any kind. If you are in crisis or need clinical support, please contact a licensed mental health professional or call or text 988.

What we offer

Guided Journey Studio sells and distributes digital psychoeducational products including printable and fillable PDFs, card decks, journals, and AI-powered reflection tools. We may also offer free resources, email-based content, and courses. The specific terms of each offering are described on its respective page.

Free resources and email content

From time to time we may offer free downloads, self-checks, or email-based content. These are provided as-is for educational purposes and are subject to the same intellectual property and disclaimer terms described throughout these Terms.

The Boundary Compass

The Boundary Compass is an AI-powered reflection tool currently built on ChatGPT (OpenAI). A version built on Claude (Anthropic) is in development and will be available in the future. Both versions are structured to help you reflect and explore your own boundaries, on your terms. You are doing the reflecting; the tool offers prompts and structure. Use of the Boundary Compass is subject to these Terms as well as the applicable platform's terms of service and privacy policy: OpenAI's for the current GPT version, and Anthropic's for the Claude version when it becomes available.

Access to the Boundary Compass is provided through a personal access link. This link is for your use only and may not be shared, distributed, or resold. Guided Journey Studio reserves the right to revoke access if this term is violated.

Your Relationship with Guided Journey Studio

Guided Journey Studio is not a licensed healthcare or mental health provider in your interactions with our products. Using our products, including the Boundary Compass, does not create a therapist-client relationship, a coaching relationship, or any other clinical or professional relationship between you and Guided Journey Studio, whether through your use of our products or through any other communication with us, including email or customer support.

Nothing in your use of Guided Journey Studio's products should be understood as the provision of psychotherapy, clinical treatment, diagnosis, crisis counseling, legal advice, or financial advice.

Your use of Guided Journey Studio's products does not create, modify, or extend any therapist-client relationship, coaching relationship, or other clinical or professional relationship you may have with Guided Journey Studio's founder or with any other business she is affiliated with. Any such relationship is governed entirely by its own separate terms and agreements.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

The Boundary Compass and any future AI-based tools we offer use artificial intelligence, including generative AI, to provide reflective prompts, psychoeducational content, and conversational engagement based on what you share. You will be informed when you are interacting with an AI-based tool. We do not use AI to make clinical decisions, provide diagnosis, or deliver mental or behavioral healthcare of any kind. Our AI-based tools are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and we do not give any warranties regarding their outputs, availability, or performance. Users acknowledge and accept the limitations and nature of AI-powered psychoeducational tools.

Our AI-based tools generate responses based on the information you provide. Artificial intelligence is an evolving technology, and outputs may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate to your situation, even when they appear confident, detailed, or specific. You should not rely on any output from these tools without your own judgment, and outputs should never be treated as a substitute for professional medical, mental health, legal, or financial advice. You are responsible for evaluating whether any reflection, language, or suggestion offered by our tools fits your actual circumstances before acting on it. We cannot control, and are not responsible for, how you interpret or act on any reflection, prompt, or content you encounter through our products.

Design Intent and Limitations on Use

The Boundary Compass and any future AI-based tools we offer are intended for structured, time-limited reflection on specific situations, not for ongoing companionship, relationship-building, or ongoing emotional reliance on the tool itself. The Boundary Compass does not implement its own persistent memory of you, and is instructed to treat each conversation as self-contained rather than drawing on information from your other conversations.

Please be aware that conversations with the Boundary Compass are saved as chat history within the underlying AI platform (currently ChatGPT) and remain accessible to you within that platform's interface unless you delete them. Depending on your own account settings on the underlying platform, that platform may separately retain and apply information across your conversations regardless of our instructions to the contrary; we do not control this feature and cannot guarantee it will not occur. We encourage you not to enter identifying information about yourself or others, and to review the underlying platform's own privacy and memory settings if you have concerns about how your conversations are retained.

If you notice that your use of any AI-based tool we offer is becoming a substitute for human connection or professional support rather than a supplement to your own reflection, we encourage you to reach out to a trusted person in your life or a licensed professional.

Third-Party Platforms

Some of our products, including the Boundary Compass, operate on third-party AI platforms that we do not own or control, and future tools may operate on other third-party AI platforms. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, security, or performance of any third-party platform, and your use of any third-party platform in connection with our products is also subject to that platform's own terms of service and privacy policy. We do not control, and make no representations or warranties about, any content, output, or functionality generated by a third-party platform.

Your access to our AI-based tools depends on the continued availability of the underlying platform, which is outside our control. We are not responsible for outages, changes, discontinuation, or restrictions imposed by any third-party AI platform. If a platform we rely on changes its terms, restricts access, or discontinues service in a way that affects your ability to use a purchased tool, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you and, where possible, offer an alternative or replacement. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted or permanent access to any AI-based product, including tools sold as "lifetime access."

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, as described in our Privacy Policy. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you provide to us or share through our products. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we do not accept liability for unauthorized access to or disclosure of your information that occurs despite these reasonable measures.

Our efforts to protect your privacy do not create, imply, or represent that your information is protected in a manner comparable to the confidentiality protections that exist between a licensed healthcare or mental health provider and a patient or client. No such privileged relationship is created by your use of our products or services.

Not a Substitute for Professional Care

Our products and tools, including the Boundary Compass, are for informational and educational purposes only and are not a substitute for the professional judgment, advice, diagnosis, or treatment of a qualified healthcare or mental health professional. Do not disregard, avoid, or delay seeking professional care because of something you encountered through our products. All decisions regarding your health should be discussed and decided between you and your primary care physician or other licensed healthcare provider.

Guided Journey Studio is not a healthcare provider or medical device provider, and our products, including the Boundary Compass, should not be considered medical advice, medical treatment, or therapy services of any kind.

Not a Crisis Service

The Boundary Compass and any future AI-based tools we offer are not crisis services and are not suitable for individuals experiencing severe or ongoing mental health conditions that require clinical treatment. These tools are designed for general reflection and psychoeducational support around everyday boundary-setting situations, not as a resource for acute or clinical needs.

If you encounter a crisis or emergency while using the Boundary Compass or any other resource on this site, please contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988, or go to your nearest emergency room. If you are managing a severe or ongoing mental health condition, please work with a licensed mental health professional.

Compliance with Colorado Law Governing AI and Psychotherapy Services

Guided Journey Studio's products, including the Boundary Compass and any future AI-based tools, are self-help, reflection, psychoeducation, goal-setting, and wellness tools. They do not diagnose or treat any mental health disorder or condition. They are not a substitute for clinical care.

Our products are intended to provide self-help, guided meditation, journaling, psychoeducation, reflection, goal-setting, progress tracking, mood monitoring, therapeutic session preparation, mindfulness exercises, breathing exercises, and crisis resource information. They are not intended to provide therapeutic communication, clinical intervention, counseling, diagnosis, or treatment planning, and no such services are offered through Guided Journey Studio.

No Guarenteed Outcomes or Continued Availability

Guided Journey Studio's products, including the Burnout Tracker, Between-Sessions Deck, Deep Reflection Journal, and the Boundary Compass, are educational and reflective tools. We make no guarantees about specific outcomes, insights, or results from using them. Your experience will depend on your own circumstances, effort, and the situations you bring to these tools. Testimonials or examples we may share are individual experiences, not promises of what you will experience.

We do not guarantee that any specific product, tool, feature, or pricing structure will continue to be available. Your purchase of a product, including lifetime access to the Boundary Compass, does not guarantee ongoing access at a particular price or through a particular platform, though we will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes and provide an alternative or remedy where feasible.

Marketing and Product Descriptions

Descriptions of our products and tools, including marketing materials, product pages, social media content, and any language describing what a tool can help with, are provided for general informational and illustrative purposes only. They do not constitute a guarantee of any specific capability, feature, outcome, or result. In the event of any conflict between promotional or descriptive language and these Terms, these Terms control.

All content on this site, including product files, written copy, design, branding, and any free resources, is the intellectual property of Guided Journey Studio. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any content without written permission.

The Boundary Compass and any future AI-based tools generate output based on the information you provide during your conversation with the tool. As between you and Guided Journey Studio, we do not claim ownership over the reflections, language, or output generated during your individual use of an AI-based tool, except to the extent that output incorporates original content we created and own independently, such as specific psychoeducational frameworks, structured question sequences, or written material developed by Guided Journey Studio and delivered through the tool ("Independent Content"). Where output includes Independent Content, that Independent Content remains our intellectual property and is licensed to you for personal use only, consistent with the license described above.

Warranty Disclaimer

YOUR USE OF OUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES IS SOLELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. OUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, MERCHANTABILITY, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, RELIABILITY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY PRODUCT WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE FROM TECHNICAL ISSUES, INCLUDING ISSUES ARISING FROM THE THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS OUR TOOLS OPERATE ON.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE, LOSS, OR HARM ARISING FROM YOUR RELIANCE ON OUTPUT GENERATED BY ANY AI-BASED TOOL WE OFFER, INCLUDING THE BOUNDARY COMPASS.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL GUIDED JOURNEY STUDIO, ITS FOUNDER, OR ANY AFFILIATED INDIVIDUALS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OUR PRODUCTS OR SERVICES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO OUR PRODUCTS, SERVICES, OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE SIX MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100). THESE LIMITATIONS ARE ESSENTIAL TO THESE TERMS, AND WE WOULD NOT MAKE OUR PRODUCTS AVAILABLE TO YOU WITHOUT THEM.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the disclaimer of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so some of the limitations above may not apply to you. In that case, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

Liability Cap Carve-Outs

The limitations of liability described above do not apply to: (a) either party's indemnification obligations under these Terms; (b) your infringement of Guided Journey Studio's intellectual property, including unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or sharing of any product, access link, or proprietary material; or (c) your misappropriation of any proprietary content, methodology, or material belonging to Guided Journey Studio. These carve-outs exist to ensure that our general liability cap does not limit our ability to enforce our intellectual property rights or seek appropriate remedies for their misuse.

Time Limit on Claims

Any claim arising in connection with your use of our products or services must be brought within one year of the date the event giving rise to the claim occurred. Claims brought after this period will be time-barred, regardless of the underlying merits of the claim.

Purchases and Digital Downloads

All products are delivered digitally. Upon completing a purchase, you will receive access to your files via email or through our store. Because digital products are delivered immediately, all sales are generally final. Please review our refund policy before purchasing.

You are purchasing a personal license to use the product for your own individual or professional use. You may not reproduce, redistribute, resell, share, or use our products for commercial purposes without explicit written permission from Guided Journey Studio.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Guided Journey Studio, its founder, and any affiliated individuals from and against any claims, damages, expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees), and other losses arising out of or related to: your breach of these Terms; your use or misuse of our products or services; any fraud, violation of law, or willful misconduct on your part; or your violation of any rights of any other person or entity.

Termination

Access to the Boundary Compass and any future AI-based tools is provided as a limited, revocable license for your personal use only. You may stop using our products and services at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access to any product or service, including the Boundary Compass or any future AI-based tool, without refund, if we believe you have violated these Terms, misused the product, shared access with others in violation of these Terms, engaged in abusive or unlawful conduct, used the tool for purposes inconsistent with its intended educational and reflective function, exposed Guided Journey Studio to legal risk, or created a risk of harm to yourself or another person. Users of Guided Journey Studio products promise not to misuse or attempt to circumvent the parameters of the Boundary Compass bot and any future AI-powered tools.

Termination of your access does not obligate Guided Journey Studio to provide access to any future version, update, or replacement of the tool.

Where a subscription or ongoing-access product is involved, if we terminate access for a reason other than your violation of these Terms, we will provide a reasonable remedy, which may include a partial refund, an alternative product, or continued access through another means, at our discretion.

Dispute Resolution

We want to resolve any concerns directly whenever possible. Before either party commences arbitration or any other formal legal action, the party initiating a dispute must first notify the other party in writing of their intent to resolve the matter informally, and both parties agree to make a good faith effort to resolve the dispute directly for a period of thirty (30) days from that notice. Notice to Guided Journey Studio should be sent to lindsey@guidedjourneystudio.com and must include your name, contact information, and a description of the dispute.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within that period, any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Guided Journey Studio's products must be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court, or seek injunctive relief to stop unauthorized use of our intellectual property. Any arbitration will be conducted on an individual basis only. Neither party may bring a claim as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, consolidated, or representative proceeding.

Class Action Waiver

You and Guided Journey Studio each agree that any dispute resolution proceeding, whether in arbitration, small claims court, or otherwise, will be conducted only on an individual basis and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. Neither you nor Guided Journey Studio may bring, join, or participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding against the other. This waiver applies regardless of the legal theory asserted, and applies to the fullest extent permitted by law.

If any part of this Class Action Waiver is found unenforceable as applied to a particular claim or request for relief, that claim or request must be severed and pursued in court, and all other claims remain subject to this Class Action Waiver and the arbitration provisions described above.

Equitable Relief

You agree that a breach of the intellectual property or licensing provisions of these Terms would cause irreparable harm for which monetary damages would be an inadequate remedy, and that Guided Journey Studio is entitled to seek injunctive relief in addition to any other remedies available at law.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms that is not resolved through the informal or arbitration process described above will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you and Guided Journey Studio each submit to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at our discretion, including to reflect changes in our products, for legal or security reasons, or to promote user safety. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. If you continue to use our products after updated Terms are posted, you agree to the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using our products and services.
